New in from JR are these Voltage Regulators which generate a regulated 5.0 Volt,
1.0 Amp output from a 6.0 Volt to 8.5 Volt battery (most likely to be a five
cell Ni-Cad or Ni-MH pack or a two cell Li-Po.).
The standard REG-01SR is fitted with Heavy Duty cable and gold contacts. It is
designed to be used in-line with a single servo, with a high voltage battery
being used to power the receiver. The higher Rx voltage may help to minimise ‘brown-outs’ caused by low battery voltage, especially after several flights, while the
regulator ensures that the correct voltage is available to the servo for
maximum performance.
The REG-02HL version is designed for use in lightweight gliders, so only one
unit is required to go between the battery and receiver (hence the HL
designation – hand launch).
