JR Servos and Raptors

It has come to MacGregors attention that Raptors are now being fitted with a servo retaining plate. These are also available from Quick UK as an upgrade.

These plates are supplied with clearance slots pre-cut so as not to foul the web fillet that is found on all JR servos. However, it has been found that users are failing to read the instructions and either fit them in reverse or worse still fit them without the rubber bushes. .

When mounting the servo many users tend to mount the servo with the mounting plate above the mounting lugs. As the servo has a flange to support the mounting lugs at the top, this flange is compressed against the servo plate and feeds all vibration direct to the servo in spite of the mounting rubbers. If you need to mount the servo from below, the solution is to file slots in the servo mounting plate to clear the flanges so that the mounting rubbers can do their job.
